British Lion Eggs Celebrate British Egg Week

Today is the final day of British Egg Week 2017 (9th – 15th October) and to celebrate it ‘British Lion Eggs’ have created recipes for Britain’s favourite breakfasts, whilst also partnering with the Queen’s favourite hotel ‘The Goring’, for some more mouthwatering luxurious options.

The Goring was recently announced as the new AA Hotel of the Year in London 2017 – 2018 at the AA Hospitality Awards and the hotel’s Michelin-starred Executive Chef, Shay Cooper, has provided his own personal tips & tricks on how the perfect 5-star breakfast can be made in your very own home.

As well as sharing the six luxurious recipes from Shay Cooper, British Lion eggs are unscrambling Shay’s breakfast classics with simpler versions for busy weekday mornings. Bringing a little bit of luxury to breakfast every day and showing that one or two ingredients can make all the difference when it comes to making delicious breakfasts at home.

Mr Cooper, says: “From our breakfast menu, the egg dishes are certainly the most popular, with the full English being a clear favourite. The Dining Room at The Goring celebrates the best in British food and the breakfast menu is no exception.

“Our guests expect the highest standards of cooking, but it is also possible to try and recreate these dishes at home to celebrate the most important meal of the day.

“What better time to celebrate the versatility of eggs than British Egg Week. The great British breakfast would be lost without eggs.”

Shay Cooper’s six breakfast recipes are: –

– The Goring’s full English breakfast

– Sunday smoked salmon and scrambled eggs

– Classic Eggs Benedict with homemade hollandaise

– Soft poached eggs, sweetcorn pancake and crispy pancetta

– Eggs cocotte with smoked haddock, leek and chives

– Fine herb omelette with sliced smoked salmon

Or for a quicker, but just as delicious version, try: –

“This British Egg Week, we are proud to be partnering with one of Britain’s most highly regarded hotels to show Brits that you can have a ‘hotel style’ breakfast all week long.”
