The draperLAYERS Team are exhibiting at the 27th BFREPA Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition on Thursday 11th October.

The Conference, hosted and organised by ForFarmers, is on the 11th October 2018 and caters for all Free Range Egg producers.
It will cover a range of topics, including health, nutrition, and management and includes a new question time panel with guests from across the Free Range Egg Supply Chain.
Over 50 exhibitors will also be showcasing their latest innovations and products and you will find draperLAYERS on Stand 53.
Doors are open from 08:30 and the BFREPA AGM starts at 09:30.
The Conference will kick off at 11:00.

This year’s speakers
This year delegates will hear from a range of speakers covering all aspects of practical hen keeping and egg production, with a particular focus on those issues which will be most relevant to producers in the future. The conference will be chaired by ex BFREPA Chairman Myles Thomas.
The BFREPA CEO will update producers and members on the
achievements and challenges going forward for the
Association and Free Range Egg Producers.
Ian is a vet at Norfolk based Crowshall Vets. At the BFREPA Conference
2018 he will be considering the implications and management required to extend lay as well as other key interventions for bird health and welfare.
Ian is fascinated by the quality of the data which can be used to drive
enhanced health and welfare in the poultry industry and is working towards
his Doctorate which considers the economic impact of effective management
of poultry drinking water.
Albert leads the research and development program for poultry for ForFarmers. His special fields of attention include long living laying hens, crude fibre in poultry nutrition, non-beak trimmed layers and phosphorus nutrition in layers. Albert will outline future trends in nutrition for successful performance, including how nutrition plays a role in support the bird in extended laying cycles and stopping beak trimming.
Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Rural Affairs and Biosecurity, Lord Gardiner, will provide a short video updating producers on the Government‚Äôs desire to reduce injurious pecking to the level where beak trimming can be banned.
Dr Jessica Stokes
Dr Jessica Stokes is the research officer at the Laying Hen Welfare Forum. Following a short message from DEFRA on the topic of Beak Trimming, Dr Stokes will run a lunchtime workshop which will showcase a new innovation project which is working with a group of producers who are undertaking on farm activities and interventions to help maintaining feather cover.
Will is the 2018 BFREPA Conference‚Äôs popular producer speaker. He will give an overview of his business and highlight how he is engaging with the public about farming. Will is the ‚ÄúThe Podcasting Farmer‚ÄĚ known for his Rock and Roll Farming Podcast which aims to connect food producers and consumers.
